I wrote this story in the fall of 2007. I can’t recall the exact inspiration for this story, and as no one but me really cares about this detail luckily the reader’s sleep won’t be disturbed by this glaring lack of information.
In writing this I was attempting to address some of the promises that technologies provide, and more so the faith that we as consumers place in them. Imagining a world of total knowledge—one in which all mystery has been removed—sounds somewhat ridiculous, almost impossible to imagine, though I’d hope you’d permit yourself to indulge such fantasies. I enjoyed the concept as I played around with it, and hopefully you’ll enjoy the end results.
